COTTON HARVESTING IN SUGHD REGION

Cotton growers of Sughd region effectively use favorable weather conditions and are actively engaged in the collective harvesting of this year cotton crop.

It is worth noting that this year, the State Institution “Agriculture Entrepreneurship Development”, as part of the “Strengthening Resilience of the Agriculture Sector Project” implementation provided the region farmers (project beneficiaries) – including seed-producing farms and the private sector – with high-quality “Elite” category cotton seeds during the sowing period. Due to proper implementing the agrotechnical cultivation standards, cotton growers were able to achieve good growth and high yield of this crop.

Currently, collective cotton harvesting has been organized and is actively ongoing in the region towns and districts. During the first harvest, a good yield of 13 to 16 c/ha has already been achieved.
