IMPROVING ACCESS TO WATER RESOURCES WITHIN THE “STRENGTHENING RESILIENCE OF THE AGRICULTURE SECTOR PROJECT” FRAMEWORK

One of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan goals is to ensure food security for the country population, and together with scientists in this field, the Government constantly takes the necessary measures to involve unused lands into agricultural circulation, improve the melioration condition of lands and increase the yield of agricultural crops.

This year, within the “Strengthening Resilience of the Agriculture Sector Project” framework, the State Institution “Agriculture Entrepreneurship Development” planned to drill a well to irrigate the demonstration and experimental plots of the Tajikistan Academy of Agricultural Sciences National Center for Genetic Resources.

The Institution engineers and specialists managed to promptly put the well with a calculated depth of 100 meters, also equipped with additional equipment (transformers, cables, pumping equipment, etc.) into operation.

The commission highly appreciated the work of sector specialists in putting the well into operation and gave useful recommendations to the Tajikistan Academy of Agricultural Sciences National Center for Genetic Resources staff on its effective use.
