HIGH-QUALITY SEEDS ARE A HIGH YIELD GUARANTEE; COTTON HARVESTING IN KHATLON REGION

Rejoicing at this year abundant cotton yield, the Khatlon region farmers have directed all their efforts to its harvesting. They are striving to effectively use the favorable weather and complete the harvesting in the fields on time and without losses before the cold weather onset.

It is worth noting that this year, before the sowing season, the State Institution “Agriculture Entrepreneurship Development,” within the project framework to increase crop yields, especially cotton, provided 106.2 tons of high-quality certified seeds of various cotton varieties to seed farms and farmer households, as well as other agricultural organizations and institutions in the region (project beneficiaries).

Currently, the cotton harvesting is going on as planned, and a number of towns and districts in the region have completed it in time. The yield in the cotton-growing areas remains high, and farmers continue its harvesting at a rapid pace.

It should be noted that thanks to this year favorable weather and the farmers’ conscientious work, the agricultural crops in the region developed perfectly and produced high yields.

The farmers are satisfied and have expressed their gratitude for the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan and the State Institution “Agriculture Entrepreneurship Development” constant support.
