FIELD TRIALS FOR COTTON IN THE SUGHD REGION ARE ONGOING

This year, under favorable weather conditions, farmers in the Sughd region (project beneficiaries) followed agrotechnical practices and efficiently utilized agricultural land, leading to strong crop growth and increased yields.

Specialists from the State Institution ” Agriculture Entrepreneurship Development”, as part of the “Strengthening Resilience of the Agriculture Sector Project”, are conducting regional field trials for cotton and determining its expected biological yield in compliance with the Republic of Tajikistan Ministry of Agriculture directive.

During the trials, the institution regional specialists, together with representatives from the Ministry of Agriculture and farm managers, assess the biological yield of the crop and take measures to implement a long-term plan.

The high-quality seeds provided by the institution to project beneficiaries this year offer many advantages over local ones and give higher yields.

The trials demonstrate that cotton growth and yield are significantly better than last year, and farmers can further increase yields by adhering to agrotechnical practices before harvesting.
