PUBLIC HEARINGS WITH PROJECT BENEFICIARIES IN GBAO TOWNS AND DISTRICTS ON THE GRIEVANCE REDRESS MECHANISM

The State Institution “Agriculture Entrepreneurship Development” pays special attention to the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan instructions and directives’ implementation and constantly takes necessary measures for the agricultural sector development.

The Institution specialists on social and environmental issues together with the staff of the public organization “Umedbakhsh” within the framework of the “Strengthening Resilience of the Agriculture Sector Project” work on ensuring transparency of the project activities and interaction with beneficiaries, as well as the grievance redress mechanism at the local and regional levels in the towns and districts of Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Oblast.

During the working visit to GBAO, in order to implement the Republic of Tajikistan Law “On appeals of individuals and legal entities”, the official document on environmental and social issues, as well as grievance redress mechanism within this project framework, the executive bodies of state authorities of GBAO towns and districts established a commission, and the work in this direction continues with enthusiasm.

During the public hearings, experts on social and environmental issues of the Institution and employees of “Umedbakhsh” NGO address transparency issues of the “Strengthening Resilience of the Agriculture Sector Project” activities, the Grievance Redress Mechanism, as well as other current issues of the sector.

After the public hearings, the committee inspected information stands and boxes for beneficiary appeals, permanently active greenhouses, crop demonstration plots, wells and other facilities.

Farmers of GBAO towns and districts took active part in the public hearings and expressed satisfaction and gratitude to the Founder of Peace and National Unity, Leader of the Nation, President of the country esteemed Emomali Rahmon for the continuous support in the agricultural sector development.
