SUPPORT FOR FARMERS TO DEVELOP THE AGRICULTURAL SECTOR

The agricultural sector development is one of the priority areas for the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, ensuring food security for the population, supplying raw materials to industries and improving the economic conditions of the country citizens.

This year, with the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan support, the State Institution “Agriculture Entrepreneurship Development” within the framework of the “Strengthening Resilience of the Agriculture Sector Project”, has purchased 150 compact tractors with trailers provided to vulnerable farms across the country.

Additionally, to further improve the material and technical base of vulnerable farms, the various types of agricultural attachments have been bought, including two-row and five-row seeders, cultivators, potato planters, potato harvesters, boom and air-blast sprayers, fertilizer spreaders, grain seeders, grain harvesters, tractor rakes, chisels, harrows, disc harrows, grain and vegetable seeders, as well as irrigation pumps. All this equipment is being distributed to vulnerable farms.

Currently, the nationwide distribution of agricultural attachments has begun, aimed at strengthening the material and technical base of vulnerable farms (project beneficiaries).

The Founder of Peace and National Unity, Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, esteemed Emomali Rahmon, consistently emphasizes the importance of sectoral development and the material-technical support of farms. He gives specific instructions on the efficient use of water and land resources, on increasing the agricultural productivity by modern technologies, on achieving two to three harvests per plot of land and ensuring farms have access to high-quality seeds.
