WORKING VISIT OF THE HEAD OF STATE, ESTEEMED EMOMALI RAHMON, TO PORSHINEV JAMOAT, SHUGHNAN DISTRICT, GBAO

On June 27, the Founder of Peace and National Unity, Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, esteemed Emomali Rahmon, visited a demonstration plot of agricultural crops and farming machinery in Shugnan district Porshinev jamoat Pashor village.

During the visit, the Head of State was briefed on the demonstration plot structure. The plot was arranged on 4 hectares of previously unused land. On 1.5 hectares, saplings of apricot, peach, plum, cherry plum, pear, sweet cherry, dwarf and semi-dwarf apple trees were planted, while the remaining area was allocated for walnut saplings.

Additionally, a project for a modern greenhouse, currently under construction by the State Institution ” Agriculture Entrepreneurship Development” on an area of over one hectare adjacent to the demonstration plot was presented to the President.

This project objective is selecting and adapting crops to local climatic conditions, introducing modern and innovative land-use practices, ensuring local food production, and, overall, implementing measures to strengthen food security.

It was noted that the vegetable cultivation area in the modern greenhouse will cover 32 acres, with produce supplied to the market year-round.

Esteemed Leader of the Nation Emomali Rahmon highly appreciated this initiative and wished its initiators success and prosperity.

After getting familiar with the demonstration plot, the modern greenhouse project and the fish farm, esteemed Emomali Rahmon urged farmers to use arable land efficiently, involve unused plots into agricultural rotation, use high-yield seeds, expand orchard areas, actively use natural resources and thereby contribute to ensuring food security.
