MONITORING THE PROGRESS OF FIELD WORK IN SUGHD REGION
Every year, specialists of the State Institution “Agriculture Entrepreneurship Development” within the framework of the “Strengthening Resilience of the Agriculture Sector Project” monitor the progress of field work throughout the country and all crops growth in the fields.
This week, the Institution specialists familiarized themselves with the seasonal work of farmers (project beneficiaries) in Sughd region.
In the region towns and districts, field work is continuing with enthusiasm, farmers are collectively engaged in inter-row cultivation of cotton, corn, vegetables, legumes and other crops, weeding and perching of various crops, watering and feeding.
It should be noted that this year, with the support of the Republic of Tajikistan Government, the State Institution “Agriculture Entrepreneurship Development” within the project framework provided a number of vulnerable farms with more than eight types of high-quality certified seeds adapted to climatic conditions, such as wheat, potatoes, cotton, onions, peas, corn, flax and beets.
Farmers (project beneficiaries) were able to sow these crops on time and ensure good growth by following proper agronomic practices.
Within the framework of the “Strengthening Resilience of the Agriculture Sector Project”, the State Institution specialists visited Spitamen, J. Rasulov, B. Gafurov districts and Istaravshan town, where sprouting of all crops in the fields is good, and inter-row cultivation, feeding, watering, protective measures (pest control) and harvesting of some crops continue with enthusiasm.
Besides, the SRASP PMU specialists gave useful advice on timely and safe harvesting of mature crops and re-sowing.
