PUBLIC HEARINGS ON STARTING THE AGROLOGISTIC CENTER CONSTRUCTION IN SUGHD REGION
The agricultural sector development is considered one of the Republic of Tajikistan Government priority directions to provide the population with food, develop industry and improve the economic status of compatriots.
On June 13 this year, the State Institution “Agriculture Entrepreneurship Development” in the framework of the “Strengthening Resilience of the Agriculture Sector Project” specialists on social and environmental issues held public hearings with participation of responsible persons from the Sughd region State Authority Executive Body, residents of neighborhoods next to the construction site and the construction company “Termodynamika” employees involved in the construction.
The hearings were opened by the head of Sughd region State Power Executive Body Department of Investment and Property Sharifjon Akhmedov, who in his speech told about the progress of agrologistic center construction in the region free economic zone and stated that the region State Power Executive Body responsible persons are ready to provide all-round support for its timely construction.
Afterwards, Rano Rakhmatova, AED PMU specialist on social issues, spoke about the Republic of Tajikistan Government continuous support in the agrarian sector development, the benefit of agrologistic centers for the country population in providing permanent jobs and about the progress in the SRASP implementation, considering the upcoming plans fulfillment for this facility construction using modern technologies for its qualitative and timely completion.
During the hearings, the “Termodynamika” construction company engineers made informative presentations and provided their work plans to the audience from the beginning of a large-scale construction project to the completion.
Besides, at the stage of starting the mobilization works on implementing the environmental management plan considering stakeholders’ opinions and proposals, the results of environmental impact assessment and according to the World Bank requirements of social and environmental standards, the detailed information was provided on the measures taken to comply with sanitary and hygienic norms, safety rules, the Republic of Tajikistan current legislation requirements and norms in ensuring safety during construction.
At the end of the hearings, the specific instructions and tasks were given to the responsible persons for the upcoming construction timely implementation. In the afternoon, the “Termodynamika” construction company engineers and SRASP specialists visited the agrologistic center construction site.
