Renovation and Reconstruction Works in Agricultural Research Institutions

The Scientific Center for Innovation Technologies and Agricultural Mechanization of the Tajik Academy of Agricultural Sciences was established in 2015 on the basis of the Institute of Crop Production of the TAAS and has been operating effectively ever since.

With the support of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, the Scientific Center for Innovation Technologies and Agricultural Mechanization of the Tajik Academy of Agricultural Sciences, which was in need of major repairs, was fully renovated and reconstructed this year by the State Institution “Agriculture Entrepreneurship Development” as part of the “Strengthening Resilience of the Agriculture Sector” project. Upon completion of the work, the building was handed over for use.

As part of the first component of the project, a complete renovation of the building’s exterior faсade and interior, covering an area of 2,617 square meters, was carried out using modern materials and technologies, significantly improving the working conditions for the center’s staff.

In addition, the building’s old, worn-out roof, covering 1,309 square meters, was fully replaced. The entrance, conference hall, 11 classrooms, 2 workshops, and employee offices, all of which required major repairs, were reconstructed. The total area of these works amounted to 1,684 square meters. During the renovation, new doors and windows were installed, floors and ceilings were updated, and modern chandeliers were fitted.

The construction work was carried out in compliance with the World Bank’s environmental and social standards and was completed to a high standard. The building is now fully operational.

The management of the Scientific Center for Innovation Technologies and Agricultural Mechanization of the Tajik Academy of Agricultural Sciences expressed their gratitude to the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan for its ongoing support.
