Collection of seed potatoes in Sughd region

The State Institution “Agriculture Entrepreneurship Development” within the framework of the Strengthening Resilience of the Agriculture Sector Project this year provided high quality potato seeds of elite groups “Evolution”, “Picasso” and “Arizona” to farmers of seed potato farms. These seeds were distributed throughout the country to the project beneficiaries.

This year, due to favorable weather conditions and timely compliance with agrotechnical norms, the yield of crops, especially potatoes, turned out to be high. Currently, harvesting has started in the towns of Mastchoh, Devashtich, Shahriston and Isfara in Sughd Province.

In the process of determining the expected harvest, the industry specialists noted that this year’s crop turned out to be excellent and decisive steps will be taken to further develop seed production.

In addition, during the official visit, the agency specialists familiarized themselves with the social and environmental requirements of the project at the seed farm level. They monitored labor conditions, including working conditions of women farmers and minors, and checked compliance with safety rules. The process of wheat seed storage in warehouses was also reviewed.
