Gradual growth of crop yields

As the Founder of Peace and National Unity, Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon noted at the meeting with farmers: “We have favorable natural conditions and necessary resources. If we use them wisely and efficiently, we will be able to provide the country’s population with food and solve the issue of food security – one of our national goals”.

Specialists of the State Institution “Agriculture Entrepreneurship Development” together with the project beneficiaries constantly monitor the current state of crops nationwide and constantly take measures for their cultivation and growth.

This year, farmers in Sughd and Khatlon regions participating in the project have effectively utilized every inch of their fertile land. In accordance with the plan, they sowed elite seeds of Lazer, Lima and Ramses varieties on an area of 3,123 hectares (Sughd region – 800 hectares, Khatlon region – 2,323 hectares). Currently there are 2 to 5 pods on each plant. Cotton fields are growing very well and agro-technical works are carried out gradually.

Farmers are determined to increase cotton yields by using quality seeds and strictly following agrotechnical methods of cultivation. Like last year, they are aiming for a high and quality harvest.
