Monitoring of agriculture crops in Sughd Region

Specialists of the State Institution “Agriculture Entrepreneurship Development” within the framework of the Strengthening Resilience of the Agriculture Sector Project last week conducted monitoring of agricultural crops such as wheat, corn, potatoes and other plants in Sughd region.

Last autumn, farmers of the Sughd region (beneficiaries of the project) planted high-quality wheat seeds of the elite group of varieties “Timiryazovka -150”, “Alixich” and “Thunder” on an area of 720 hectares. Currently, after the completion of fertilizing, agrotechnical work on the field continues, and the growth of crops remains favorable.

In Sughd region, farmers have already started sowing seeds of high-quality varieties such as “Lima”, “Lazer” and “Ramses” provided by the project. They are determined to make effective use of the favorable spring weather and intend to increase the sown area to 800 hectares within the established timeframe.

At the same time, related specialists constantly carry out explanatory work in the direction of compliance with social and environmental requirements of the project in particular: control over storage of mineral fertilizers, compliance with safe storage of fertilizers and pesticides, compliance with working conditions, labor monitoring, etc.
