With the support of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, the state institution “Agriculture Entrepreneurship Development”, in order to increase crop yields, ensure food security and develop seed production, within the framework of the Strengthening Resilience of the Agriculture Sector Project, procured a number of high-quality certified seeds from abroad. These seeds were distributed to seed farms, dehkan households and vulnerable farms of the republic.
On April 4th of this year, in order to further improve the field of seed production, the institution provided 500 tons of high-quality potato seeds (varieties Evolution – 250 tons, Picasso – 100 tons, Arizona 150 tons) and 100 tons of cotton seeds (varieties Laser 30 tons, Pima 30 tons and Ramses 40 tons) imported from abroad. These seeds were distributed to 106 enterprises, including seed farms, private sector enterprises and scientific institutions in the field of agriculture.
All imported agricultural seeds belong to the elite group, are certified, high-yielding and suitable for the climatic conditions of Tajikistan.The purpose of distributing these agricultural seeds is to promote sustainable development of the seed industry.
