On May 26– 2022, a presentation of “Strengthening Resilience of the Agriculture Sector Project” carried out by the State Institution “Agriculture Entrepreneurship Development” took place in the city of Khujand, in the building of the Khujand-Star Hotel.

The launch of the Project was attended by representatives of the executive body of the state authority for the Sughd region, representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Tajikistan, representatives of the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and the UN agricultural sector, as well as specialists of seed farms of the region and other representatives of the private and public sector of the Republic of Tajikistan.

The presentation session was opened by the Deputy Chairman of the Sughd region Mirdada Zarif. In his opening speech, the Deputy Chairman noted the importance of implementing such projects to ensure food security of the Republic of Tajikistan. The head of the Department of Agrarian Policy and Food Security Monitoring of the Ministry of Agriculture, Mr. Nazarov Bahodur, in his speech briefly spoke about the main objectives and features of the project.

Further, according to the agenda of the event, the director of the State Institution for the “Agriculture Entrepreneurship Development”, Mr. Daler Satori, as well as the representative of the World Food Organization and the UN Agricultural Sector, Mr. Abduramonov Sherzod, addressed the participants of the event with a welcoming speech.

Deputy director/The Project coordinator, Mr. B. S. Kurbonov, made a presentation to the participants of the event describing the goals and structure of the project. During the presentation, it was noted that the project contributes to strengthening the sustainability of the agricultural sector in the Republic of Tajikistan and will contribute to ensuring the country’s food security in the future.
