Start of well drilling in the State Institution “State Commission for testing of types of agriculture crops and protection of varieties” in Sughd region

One of the priorities of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan is the sustainable development of various sectors of the country, in connection with which there is great interest in the implementation of these plans.

With the support of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, under the implementation of the “Strengthening Resilience of the Agriculture Sector Project” drilling of wells for irrigation of agricultural lands of the State Institution “State Commission for testing of types of agriculture crops and protection of varieties” in B. Gafurov district of Sughd region has been successfully carried out by the State Institution “Agriculture Entrepreneurship Development” since January of the current year.

On 14 January 2025, a public meeting on planning and implementation of well drilling works was held in this institution by specialists of the State Institution “Agriculture Entrepreneurship Development” with the participation of institution specialists and workers involved in well drilling works andirrigation works of the institution’s agricultural lands.

At the meeting specialists of the State Institution Agriculture Entrepreneurship Development” in Sughd region provided information on the implementation of the environmental management plan, taking into account the opinions and proposals of stakeholders, the results of the environmental impact assessment, in accordance with the requirements of the World Bank’s social and environmental standards, compliance with sanitary and hygienic norms, safety equipment and compliance with the current legislation requirements of the Republic of Tajikistan, as well as detailed information was provided on the mechanism for dealing with complaints and requests.
