From February 26 to March 2, 2024, a study tour of specialists of agriculture sector to the Republic of Uzbekistan is taking place as part of Strengthening Resilience of the Agriculture Sector Project.
An important factor in the effective implementation of the project is this study tour with the participation of specialists from the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Tajikistan, the Committee for Food Security under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, the National Center for Food Security Diagnostics, the State Unitary Enterprise “Center for Digitalization and Advanced Training in Agriculture”, the State Institution “Locust Control Expedition”, the State Institution “Plant Protection and Chemicalization”, the Institute of Soil Science and Agrochemistry of the AAST, representatives of agricultural departments of the Sughd and Khatlon regions and representatives of Food and Agriculture Organization (UN).
The tour started with a meeting with FAO representatives, management and specialists of the Institute of Soil Science and Agrochemistry of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
The objective of the tour is to increase the knowledge and innovative skills of the participants, to learn about digitalization of the industry and innovative ways, to gain knowledge on soil diagnosis with modern techniques, new methods of pest control, construction of greenhouses and cold storage facilities using modern technology, etc.
To this end, during the tour the specialists visited the Institute of Soil Science and Agrochemistry, stationary laboratory, Plant Protection and Quarantine Agency, mobile laboratories and the Central Phytosanitary Laboratory of the Republic of Uzbekistan, as well as held a working meeting on the development and digitalization of the industry.
