Visit of a technical working group to salt production and processing enterprises in Khatlon region

It is a matter of pride that the economic and social spheres of the society as well as other internal spheres of the country have developed during the independence era.

One of the great achievements in the Republic is the activity of new modern small and large production and processing enterprises, which constantly create jobs for people and contribute to the improvement of the economic situation of the population.

Today in different regions of the country more than 17 plants on production and processing of salt by progressive method (16 units in Khatlon oblast and 1 unit in Sughd oblast) are effectively operating, providing the population of Tajikistan with iodised salt. Part of the produced salt is exported.

On 7 February this year, specialists of the State Institution “Agriculture Entrepreneurship Development” under sub-component 3.4 of the Strengthening Resilience of the Agriculture Sector Project together with the technical working group visited the salt production and processing enterprises “Aloka” LLC, “Namakdon” and JSC “Hojamumin” in Vose district of Khatlon region.

The purpose of the visit of the technical working group is to get acquainted with the activities of these enterprises and share the experience of advanced countries in the field of industry.

In connection with this issue, the visit of the technical working group started at the enterprise “Aloka” LLC. “Aloka” LLC. started its activity in 2003, the production volume of the plant is 1450-1500 tonnes per year. The enterprise employs 16 people permanently, sanitary conditions and product packaging are maintained at a proper level.

“Namakdon” LLC has been in operation since 2011 and the total production volume is 1750-1800 tonnes per year. The company employs 20 people permanently.

JSC “Khojamumin” is one of the largest salt mining and processing enterprises in the country, built to meet modern requirements and producing and processing from 30 to 32 tonnes of high-quality products per day.

It is worth noting that all salt extraction and processing enterprises in the Republic operate according to the standard norms of the Republic of Tajikistan, and the finished products are divided into groups with different quality. They also meet the requirements of international standards and are intended both for the population of the country and for export.

As a result, the members of the technical working group fully inspected the enterprises and were informed about the state of hygiene, production and processing of salt and their reserve stock. The members of the working group gave useful recommendations to the responsible persons for further improvement of hygiene and sanitary conditions and ensuring high quality of products in accordance with the requirements of today’s world market.
