The development of the agricultural sector is considered one of the priorities of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, providing the population with food, industry with raw materials, and improving the economic situation of the population.
With the support of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, the State Institution “Agriculture Entrepreneurship Development” under the implementation of the “Strengthening Resilience of the Agriculture Sector Project” in order to improve the material and technical base of country’s vulnerable farms, 150 small tractors with trailers and 250 walk-behind tractors with trailers, soil crumbles (milling machine), potato planters and potato diggers, and ploughing equipment are being made available to vulnerable farm across the country this year.
This initiative is currently be implemented in Dushanbe city’s vulnerable farms, as well as in other cities and districts of the country.
Emomzoda Izzatullo, Head of the Department of Agriculture of the Executive Body of State Authority of Dushanbe City, staff of the State Institution “Agriculture Entrepreneurship Development”, heads of agricultural sectors of Ismoili Somoni, Sino, Firdavsi and Shohmansur districts of Dushanbe City participated in the ceremony of transferring agricultural machinery.
During the speech, it was noted by officials that the Founder of Peace and National Unity – Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan honorable Emomali Rahmon constantly supports the development of the industry and logistics of farms, and gave useful advice on the efficient use of water and land, increasing productivity, growing three or four crops by using modern technologies for and providing other farms with quality seeds.
Currently, farmers (project beneficiaries) are pleased with the continuous support of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan and intend to increase crop yields and contribute with their hard work to ensure the country’s food security.
Currently, the distribution across the country is continuing at a fast pace, the experts are making all efforts to finalize the distribution in the coming days so that the project beneficiaries can start fieldwork using the new technologies.
