Repair and reconstruction work at the Sumbula Testing Farm of the Institute of Horticulture and Vegetable Growing of the Tajik Academy of Agricultural Sciences

Testing farm Sumbula of the Institute of Horticulture and Vegetable Growing of the Tajik Academy of Agricultural Sciences has been productive since 1978 and contributes to the development of agricultural scientists’ research activities.

With the support of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, the Testing Farm, which needed major renovation, was completely repaired and reconstructed, and put into operation by the State Institution “Agriculture Entrepreneurship Development” in the frame of “Strengthening Resilience of the Agriculture Sector Project”.

State Institution in the frame of first component of the “Strengthening Resilience of the Agriculture Sector Project” completely repaired the exterior and interior of the 638.79 square meters building with high modern quality, which provided good working conditions for staff.

Also, the Testing Farm’s building roof and its storage area, which had been old and wrecked for many years, with an area of 328.79 square meters completely renovated with good quality. The front entrance, conference room, 6 staff offices, rest room, lunch room, and corridors which required major renovation of the 1443.66 square meters completely repaired with a modern design by replacing doors and windows, floors, ceilings (roof) and chandeliers.

The construction works were carried out in accordance with the requirements of social and environmental standards of the World Bank with high and modern quality, and the building was put into operation.

Management of the Sumbula Testing Farm of the Institute of Horticulture and Vegetable Growing of the Tajik Academy of Agricultural Sciences expressed their gratitude and satisfaction for the continuous support of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan.
