SEED DISTRIBUTION FOR AGRICULTURAL CROPS PROCEEDS EFFICIENTLY
The development of agriculture is one of the priority areas of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, with officials consistently paying comprehensive attention to ensuring the country’s food security.
With the support of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan and the World Bank, specialists from the State Institution “Agriculture Entrepreneurship Development” are continuing the distribution of high-quality onion and wheat seeds across the country this year, just as they did last year, as part of the “Strengthening Resilience of the Agriculture Sector” project, in accordance with the established plan.
It should be noted that the distribution of high-quality seeds began on September 13, 2024, in cities and districts throughout the republic and is aimed at increasing the productivity of agricultural crops and ensuring the food security of the country.
The imported varieties of onion seeds include Seykhan — 1.2 tons, Albani — 3 tons, Khazar — 3 tons, and the wheat varieties include Grom — 200 tons, Alekseevich — 400 tons, and Temiryazevka 150 – 500 tons. These high-yield varieties are adapted to the climatic conditions of Tajikistan and are intended for distribution among more than 7,000 small, vulnerable farms across the republic.
