With the support of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, the State Institution “Agriculture Entrepreneurship Development” under Strengthening Resilience of the Agriculture Sector Project annually imports high quality certified seeds from abroad. These measures are aimed at increasing crop yields, ensuring food security and developing seed production. Seeds are provided to seed producing, farming and vulnerable households throughout the country.
It is important to notice that on September 15, 2024, 7200 tons of high-quality onion seeds (Seyhan varieties – 1200 tons, Albeni – 3 tons and Hazar – 3 tons) were imported from the Republic of Turkey. According to the plan, the seeds were distributed to 1,209 small vulnerable farms across the country.
All imported seeds are certified, high-yielding and adapted to the climatic conditions of Tajikistan, aimed at developing the agrarian sector and ensuring food security.
