Progress of field works in Sughd region

This year, farmers in Sughd province, who are beneficiaries of the project, express their gratitude for the support provided by the state institution “Agriculture Entrepreneurship Development” and make efforts to achieve high yields through the use of quality seeds.

Dehkan farms of the region successfully took advantage of favorable weather in the last autumn season. Promptly purchased from the institution high-quality seeds of elite group wheat varieties such as “Alikseich”, “Temiryazevka-150” and “Grom” were planted on a plot with a total area of 720 hectares.

This year, thanks to favorable spring weather, the growth of all cultivated crops, especially cereals such as wheat, is going well. At the same time, agrotechnical works are already underway in the fields.

Farmers completed the first fertilization of grain fields and began protective work to prevent fungal diseases and control pests.

Currently, some of the farmers are clearing the wheat fields from weeds with the help of various herbicides and the other part is engaged in digging ditches.

During the monitoring it was noticed that the growth condition of grain crops, especially wheat, on seed farms is very favorable, which leads to abundant harvest.

At the meeting, experts presented useful science-based recommendations to farmers on further increasing crop yields and efficient utilization of each plot of land.
