Providing vulnerable farms with quality seeds and mineral fertilizers

With the support of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, the State Institution “Agriculture Entrepreneurship Development” under Strengthening Resilience of the Agriculture Sector Project transferred to vulnerable farms 5270 tons of mineral fertilizers and a number of different quality, certified crop seeds such as wheat (550 tons), potato (1,050 tons), corn (100 tons), flax (58 tons), onion (8.4 tons), tomato (0.012 tons), cucumber (0.9 tons), and peas (98.8 tons) in 2023.

The objective of transferring quality, climate-adapted seeds is to further increase agricultural production, improve crop yields, and enrich the domestic market to ensure the country’s food security.

This year, in order to strengthen the material and technical base of vulnerable farms, the institution decided to provide these farms with 52 units of small tractors and 550 units of power tillers with appropriate equipment.
